Delta Day

9:00 am-5:00 pm

Tunica's Delta Day Festival is an event that you don't want to miss.  It is held the last weekend of October and it is the best family fun on this side of the Mississippi.  Admission is free of charge and the fun begins at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm in the downtown Rivergate Park.  There is a lot of fun for the kids and ways to keep them busy with a petting zoo, kiddie train, face painting, balloon artist, moon bounce, giant slide and other activities along with a Costume Contest.  There is even a costume contest for your pet!  The highlight for the kid's activities is the Children's Tractor Pull for ages 5 to 8.  The kids love to earn yearly bragging rights for who can pull the most and the farthest.  There is just as much fun for the adults as the children.  Arts and Crafts vendors come far and wide to sell their handcrafted items.  There is even an Antique Car show with judging and an Antique Tractor Show with demonstrations from a hit and miss engine and much more.  The Memphis Hospital Helicopter wings lands for viewing in the afternoon.  Fantastic live entertainment is featured on the stage in the middle of Rivergate Park.  It isn't a party unless there is some really good food and Delta Day has got it.  There is BBQ and all of the trimmings as well as Southern Fried Catfish.  There are great food vendors that sell anything from corn dogs, funnel cakes, deep fried oreos to Belgium waffles dipped in chocolate and crushed peanuts.  There is even a fun way for all of the businesses to participate.  We hold a Scarecrow Contest for all of the businesses in the downtown area.  It is a way to get them really creative.  The people are able to place their vote for their favorite scarecrow.  The winner is announced at the end of the day.  It really is a day for all ages!
